The Next Big Things in Cytometry is a series of webinar interviews from ISAC’s CYTO Innovation Committee, aiming to explore areas of rapid innovation in cytometry technology and their potential to become a widespread technique in biology.
In this interview with Kevin Serradas O’Holleran, co-founder and CEO of ZOMP, we explore 3D imaging cytometry: technology to obtain 3D spatial information in flow cytometry, its challenges, applications and future potential. We discuss how 3D imaging cytometry goes beyond current imaging techniques, what impact this might have on biological research, and what trends are coming together to make this a reality. Interviewers: Samson Rogers and Catherine Xu.
Kevin is CEO and Co-Founder of ZOMP, and was previously a Professor at the University of Cambridge, with a background in physics and instrumentation. Kevin spent many years collaborating with biologists over imaging challenges, pushing the boundaries of microscopy to meet their research needs, which led to a deep interest to enhance 3D information from cells, extended to populations of cells in flow cytometry, and integrated with single cell manipulation and further spatial biology techniques.
