In this interactive session\, we'll explore three powerful principles from the science of learning: Attention\, Spacing\, and Retrieval. The participants will walk away with fresh insights and ready-to-use strategies that make a big impact without overhauling their entire teaching. This will be an interactive\, discussion-driven session on Zoom\, with cameras encouraged and questions welcomed throughout\, rather than a traditional presentation. Please note that this session will be recorded and made available on the CYTO U for future viewing. Learning Objectives: By the end of this session\, participants will be able to:1. Identify key processes in how memory is formed and strengthened\, 2. Identify three evidence-based principles that support long-term learning3. Connect each principle to practical\, transferable teaching strategies The Speaker:\nEmad Mansour is the Associate Director for Curriculum Development at the University of South Alabama. He holds PhDs in Plant Pathology (University of Illinois) and Education (Auburn University)\, as well as a Postgraduate Certificate in Academic Practice from King's College London. Since 2005\, he has supported instructional development at institutions across three continents. His research focuses on the characteristics of excellent teaching.
